Julie Chen Moonves, who was one of the initial hosts and moderators on The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award award-winning talk show) was back on the air in August for the 22nd episode. But her real passion was when she added writing to her duties, and was awarded an Emmy for it. She won another Emmy for hosting an outstanding entertainment talk program. The Talk examines contemporary events by looking through the eyes of five female hosts. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News' early morning news broadcast The Early Show for a 10 years. The anchor was for The Early Show as well as CBS Morning News. The CBS Television Network broadcasted a half-hour morning news program in the early hours of the morning. Chen Moonves also covered the war in Iraq as well as other important reports, for The Early Show. After 9/11 she went to Cairo for a fascinating and informative interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers like the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Queen Rania of Jordan, the former defense secretary William Cohen, and celebrities including Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news program, profiling celebrities including Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul.Prior to The Early Show, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter and anchor for WCBS-TV, a CBS-owned station located in New York City (1997-1999).Before joining CBS News, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter at WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997). Prior to that, she worked as a reporter with ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliate news channel (1992-1995) and as a desk-assistant in ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991), all while finishing her last year of university from the University of Southern California. Her first broadcasting job was as a desk associate to ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline along with Ted Koppel, who remains one of her journalism idols. Chen Moonves and Ted Koppel were co-hosts in Anatomy of a Riot - the primetime TV special that was awarded the Columbia du-Pont award - which focused on the Los Angeles riots of 1992.
